Cant catch me

Sophie L O V E S the walker. She gets in the thing and goes every where. Her favorite place however is straight to the dogs water bowl, turns it over and then parks her walker over the water and kicks the water with her feet. She is just a little mischeivious.

She celebrated her first 4th of July (without pictures) Me the mom who takes pictures of everything, missed out on taking 4th of July pictures. Oh - we had a great time with family and food.

We are leaving this weekend going to the coast (Biloxi) for a mini vaca and to see my grandparents who we havent seen in several months. Not really the vaca I was hoping for but it will do. Our original plans were to go to Gulf Shores and rent a condo with my brother, but that is not going to work out this year, so we are just gonna cut it short and go visit family for a few days. At least we are getting out of town for a bit.

Hope everyone is having a great summer!

6 Months

Sophie is officially half a year old (HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO SASSY)

She is sitting by herself, loves to take baths in the sink (She thinks everytime she hears water running in the sink she is about to get in) Loves to eat (EVERYTHING) went to the dr Tuesday and she weighs 17 lbs 6 oz. She loves to be outside & loves to ride the 4 wheeler.

She still likes the exersaucer, but has come to love the walker more. She goes every where and will get under your feet if you dont watch it. For some reason she loves the laundry room (hadnt figured this one out - maybe she will like to do laundry - sure didnt get that from me)
The doctor told me yesterday that I could start trying some baby foods on her. If the doctor only knew that we have flown past baby food. She really doesnt like it very well. Now give her Pinto beans, mashed potatoes and Banana pudding - and she is happy as a lark

She is so happy and always smiling. Just such a joy and blessing - to all of us

Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay

Took the kids to my moms this past weekend to let them play in the creek. Dont know who had more fun, the kids or my grandmother

Sophie just wanted to drink the water. It was so pretty and crystal clear. We had a really great time!

New Chapter

MORE BLESSED THAN I DESERVE!!

Our lives are books that already have been written. God has a plan for all of us and he knew the beginning and knows the end. He has laid a plan in the middle with all hope of us following and honoring HIM. We however are human and sinful and fall so short of the GLORY that HE the King of Kings deserves.

I have been struggling lately with so many things. Being a good mother, being the wife that God would have me to be, honoring my parents, even as an adult and even with the frustrations I feel against them sometimes, being a good employee to a boss that has been so gracious to me and being a servant unto others as God as instructed us to do.

Doors open and doors close. Sometimes its hard to decifer if we have opened the door or if the door has been opened by Christ. For me sometimes it is scary to go into either door. I dont do so good with change, I am a very routine person, which this gets on my husbands and kids nerves, I dont like things to go out of the way I have planned them. I like to be in control. But im not. Christ is in control. He is in control of ALL things.

Things are changing in the world around me. Its so hard to accept that sometimes, I DONT LIKE CHANGE!!

But I know that with change, new things are coming. In Isaiah it states to" forget the former things ......... I am about to do something NEW"  (Isaiah 43:18-19)

I dont know what new thing Christ is about to do for me (and my family) but I know that through HIM I can do all things (even accept change).

All I know is that he has not failed me.

I have a wonderful husband (only by the GRACE OF GOD)

I have 3 of the most precious children (only through the BLESSINGs of GOD)

I have a home in heaven (only because of THE SON OF GOD)

MORE BLESSED THAN I DESERVE!!!

5 Months and Growing

Sophie turned 5 months old this past Saturday. She got to spend her 5 month birthday in Texas with her Uncle Eric and cousin Ashlyn. As usual we sang Happy Birthday to her and she just loved it. She just loves music (even if it the not so in tune kind like we sing)

Sophie and Uncle Eric (aka Magnum PI - notice the PI shirt - yeah I gave him a hard time)

Ashlyn and Sophie

We had a great trip (another blog time). Sophie did pretty good with such a long travel time (5-6 hours). And Uncle Eric just fell in love with her. He would put her to sleep every night (so Sweet)

Sophie is really growing up and has changed so much in the last month. She is learning to hold a sippy cup. She is doing ok at this. She knows that she is suppose to have it when we eat supper. She throws this little fit at the supper table until she gets it. And im one of those bad moms and put sweet tea in it (im southern so it has to be sweet tea). She loves it and it hasnt hurt her yet so - poo on the drs. I grew up on sweet tea and I turned some what Ok (most days anyways)

She also thinks she has to help during feeding times. She always grabs the spoon when Im trying to feed her. We usually end up making this huge mess bc she doesnt want to let go of the spoon and then food goes everywhere.

She can almost sit up by herself, she is rolling over (sometimes) I cant really figure out if she is meaning too or not. Sometimes it seems like she is trying and others it seems like she is just squirming and ends up rolling over. However she has officially gotten her first booboo .She rolled off the couch at my mother-in-laws today. She has a small bruise on her head and Sam's daddy got really upset bc she fell. (first of many im sure - after all she is mine and I dont tend to have the most graceful children)

She loves Pawpaw and has him wrapped around her little finger. Found this little onsie that says grandpaws answered prayers. He is really crazy about her and was so glad to see her this morning since she hasnt been over there in a week - Granny said he missed her a lot

She still loves to be outside, but it never fails, when we take her outside she will most certainly fall asleep.

My dad is home from Nashville so he was able to come out and see her tonight. He hasnt seen her since she was born so she has changed an awful lot since then. He just kept calling her SMILEY.

Really didnt think that it would all go by this fast, but it has. It is so fun watching her grow, but also so sad knowing that she is the baby but will not be a baby for long. So Happy Birthday Sophie

Busy Blog Days of Summer

Finally a moment to sit and blog. Things have been just total chaos since the middle of May. We have had graduation, Ethans Birthday, Jakes birthday, MCT test with Gracie, my cousins High School Graduation, Gracie leaving to go camping with friends and last of all our garden.

May is a busy month anyway. It seems like all my family has birthdays in May. My Mawmaws is May 4th, my aunt and uncles is May 5th, Ethan (my nephew) is May 9th, my brothers is May 10th, my sister in laws in may 12th, my best friends is May 13th, Jakes is May 14th and last but not least my Pawpaws is May 22nd.

Not only did we have all these birthdays we also had a handful of family and friends graduating (meaning budget busting month) between gifts bought and money given, I feel like I needed to take a loan out just to get through all the birthdays and graduations. Its all good though and we have almost survived our busy Month of May. We are going to close it out with a fun trip to Texas to see my brother Eric (who has just had surgery). We are all excited about going out there for a few days and even more excited at the thought of my little niece coming home with us for a while.

Just a few pictures from the last couple of weeks and all the fun, yet craziness that we have been living. We are blessed and loved - and thats all that matters

First we had Jakes Gradution from preschool. Cannot believe that he is going to be in kindergarden/big school next year. He seems excited (at times anyway)

Jake graduated on a Thursday and on Friday he turned 6. We had a birthday party for him that Saturday at the house. Just family but we had a really good time. We had a fish fry and birthday cake, cant get better than that.

Sam and Pawpaw preparing our good southern fried catfish - mouth watering (YES MAM')

Jake and Gracie waiting on the party to start. Sam built this tree house all by himself (He is just a jack of all trades) You cant tell but its up off the ground and has a swing set and sand box built in it. Really pretty cool
Jake, Aunt Ann and Sophie waiting on the party to start

Missing In Action

If you noticed in my last blog we have been mostly MIA bc we have not taken any new pictures. I know I dont always have to post pictures of my kids, but they are cute kids so I want to post pictures of them.

Since Gracie so graciously decided that we didnt need any more pictures I have been wrecking my brain for a camera. Yeah I could probably go out and buy a new camera but that is just not me. I tend not to buy nice expensive things for myself (1. bc I dont like to spend money on things for me that I really dont have to have, 2. I usually end up spending money on my kids or my husband, 3. I dont want to spend the money bc I fear what my kids will do to it)

So in the need of a camera for this weeks activities (Jake is graduating Thursday from preschool and turning 6 Friday) my mom has been so kind to allow me to borrow her old camera so I may capture these moments - THANKS MOTHER.

Until then I have been practicing using her camera and trying to figure out all the buttons and zooms and lighting and what not. I did take a few of Sophie (which grows more and more every day) I promise if you dont take a picture of that child every few days you will miss her growing and changing.

She is like a Kudzu - she just keeps growing and growing.

She is so active now, she talks all the time, She love to be outside. Sam hung up her swing (Well it used to be Gracie's swing and then Jakes now Sophies - probably not to code anymore but we use it anyway.

Tonight when I gave her a bath I decided not to use the baby tub and just put her in the sink - SHE LOVED IT.

She has more rolls than WOnder Bread!!!

Well Ill try to post again before I have to give my moms camera back. Sophie my be gradutating High School before I break and go by a camera (maybe not that long).
